School of Lost Borders: "The School" was founded in 1981 by Steven Foster and Meredith Little in Big Pine, California, just east of the Sierra Mountains. Over the past decades, the School has brought back into the world the rite-of-passage ceremony of a wilderness fast. The School draws upon pancultural teachings and the wisdom of nature itself to bring this ancient ceremony to modern-day people. www.schooloflostborders.org Lost Borders Press: Started by Steven and Meredith as a way to publish their own books and those on related wilderness themes by other authors. This press published my first book, The Final Crossing. www.lostborderspress.com EarthWays LLC: Sara Harris and Susan Kistin first met while they were both doing a wilderness fast in 2000 to mark their 50th birthday.
